Thesis Statement: In this first volume in a trilogy, the main character Kvothe’s journey through life, development, and heroic actions is explored through metaphors, simile, imagery, personification, parallelism, and allusion.
Subtopic 1: When it comes to physics, the author uses both metaphors and similes to take readers into another universe. It adds an air of absurdity and intrigues the reader by relating a wall to a piece of paper.
Subtopic 1 Supporting Quote: “But Taborlin knew the names of all things, and so all things were his to command, and the stone broke; the wall tore like a piece of paper.”
Subtopic 2: Using a poetic simile provides a feeling of warmth and comfort.
