Please prepare to spend time talking with a child between the ages of 7 and 11, conducting an informal interview (this can be done remotely and there is no expectation to compromise your shelter-in-place)
Instructions
For the interview: Provide the age, grade, and gender (please ask your child how they identify) of the child you interviewed. Add information regarding your relationship with the child.
Using your interview write up a short summary (1000 words/2 pages minimum) in which you discuss the child’s development. Please reference your textbook or any other resources shared in the course (Please note that the DRDP does not apply to this age group).
Based on the child’s responses, provide one example in which you can demonstrate the child’s development in the following domains (please use subtitles to indicate):
Cognitive development (moral reasoning, metacognition, concrete/formal operations…)
Social-emotional development (Mastery-orientation, learned helplessness, self-concept, self-esteem, industry/inferiority,)
Physical-motor development (sports, health, nutrition,)
Self-Reflection: In a separate paragraph describe your experience doing this interview. How did you feel about this child? Do you have any concerns?

If you saw a kid teasing someone at school and no adults saw it happen, what might you do?

What to Submit (this is not an essay, use titles and subtitles to organize your work)
Introduce your child (first name only)
a brief summary of the interview
an analysis of each of the 3 areas of development (a paragraph or more for each domain)
a self-reflection (be sure to provide examples)
