After reading the article, ponder and discuss any and all of the following questions:
Who is liable for views express on the web: The owner of the forum (ie, Facebook, Twitter), or is the poster of the comment solely responsible?
Should the forum owner have the right (and moral obligation) to moderate and censor hateful or inflammatory remarks? What about misinformation–information written as if it were factual but with no supporting evidence (or what some might call “Fake News”)?
In your opinion, does Section 230 of the Communications Decency act adequately address these issues? If not, what would you change to the existing act?
