Go to a search engine on the internet and look for the article written by Frederick Douglass, “What to the Slave is the Fourth of July?” and the Declaration of Independence.  Compare/contrast these 2 historical documents, should non-white races consider themselves to be free/independent and/or oppressed and is the 4th of July a holiday for them to celebrate when considering the historical racial context of the United States. Does the celebration apply to non-white individuals not born in the USA whether a citizen or not?  Using the Economics and Politics chapter as a reference, identify what factors in the chapter apply to these two (2) historical documents and explain the connections. learning  objects; understand the peculiar institution of slavery, 2. identify how it was embedded in the united stated , 3. establish the hypocrisy of the declaration of independence when compared to what to the slavery is the 4th of July. 4. identify the remnants of slavery currently prevalent in the united states among different groups. 5. compare and contrast freedom and oppression. 6. identify the the hypocrisy of democray. less than 30% plagrism  and a reflection page.
