I’m working on a software engineering project and need support to help me study.Aims: To simulate and testt the performance of various analogue and digital communications concept
To provide students with key skills to evaluate analogue communications systems
To experience the use of laboratory equipment
To encourage working together in groups
Module learning outcomes assessed by this coursework: On successful completion of this assignment, students will be expected, at threshold level, to be able to: LO 3: Evaluate the digital and analogue techniques employed in communication systems.
LO 4: Interpret digital communications in practical systems applications.
LO 5: Use computer aided design tools such as MATLAB and NI instrument to design and
simulate communication signals and devices.Task: Working in teams of two or three, the students will be given projects to work upon involving digital and analogue electronic components. They are then expected to design and testt their project solutions and to produce an individual 1000-word report documenting the process according the assessment components section. The students are also expected, as a group, to show their work to their colleagues and teachers in a short 10-minute oral presentation, where individual contribution towards the group projects will be assessed by the assessor. The Project artefact is worth 20% of the total module marks.MTCS4026 Analogue and Digital Communications – Academic Year 2020/21 Page 2 of 10Background: Mathematics, Computer programming, Analogue & Digital Electronics.Equipment: Computer Aided Software for simulation.Procedure Students are required to work in small groups to complete a given project where they are
required to simulate and testt the communications systems. Students should work together as a group to present the results of their efforts while individual
reports should be produced independently. Copying other students’ work is strictly not allowed.
Project ExamplesIn addition to the list given below, the students can propose their own project within the scope of the learning outcomes. 1- Transmitting Audio signal over a specific channel using QAM modulation 2- Design a receiver to detect audio signal for multi channels 3- Design a filter to reduce the noise of a received audio signal 4- Develop an ASK transmitter for the speaker – air – microphone channel 5- Design digital audio equalizer (Using LabVIEW)6- Design and simulate PLL for timing synchronization 7- Speech recognition for a received audio signal (Using LabVIEW) Lecturers will give brief guidelines for students explaining the group work process. Students are then expected to design and testt their project solutions by using computer aided designing tools such as MATLAB and NI LabView platform and to produce an individual 1000-word report documenting the process according to the rubrics given below.Assessmentt Summary The project artefact contributes 20% of the final module mark with 10% coming from both the report and oral presentation each. Marks are awarded in this assessmentt according to the following rubric:
