The Secular world is very focused on facts right now. People in todays society are interested in what they can see, smell, and touch. When a Christian approaches someone who is upset about losing material possession they tend to ignore their sacred convictions from the Spirit to comfort with Scripture. This is due to the fear of “offending” the unbeliever. I get urges quite often to mention Jesus when my friends are struggling, but I am afraid that doing so may cause me to stumble, which is selfish on my part. This is because I have gotten upset myself when my efforts to comfort with the Word of God get shut down. I tend to take offense to that, which is definitely not the “sacred” reaction. The church needs to come together and end the divide. Every single thing we do should be Christ-centered. If our every thought and action is focused on the mission there is no room for a divide. We have to learn to put our feeling aside and love God. If we love God more than ourselves then bridging the gap should become second nature. This action of love is developed by practice and with the help of the Spirit.
