Instructions: Please address the questions below using at least 250 words. The wage gap discussion began in the 1970s when women entered the workforce in great numbers. According to the Institute for Women’s Policy Research (IWPR, 2018), the wage gap in 2018 was roughly 20%; this means that women, on average, are earning 80 cents for every $1.00 that men earn. The IWPR offers several reasons for this gap in wages; they also explain how this disparity in earnings affects men, women, and children differently. Log into their website here to read more.

Questions to address:
PART 1:
1) According to the IWPR, what are some reasons women earn less in an average workweek than men? (Make sure you cite the article.)
2) Read the section titled “Earnings Differences by Gender, Race, and Ethnicity” and look over the data provided in Table 1. What stands out to you most?
a. How does this data affect those you care about? In other words, does this data ring true for anyone you know personally (including yourself)? This is your chance to add a personal note to our discussion if you like.
3) Offer at least one solution to address the wage gap. Give details as to how you would significantly reduce the wage gap for today’s wage earners. Be creative!
PART 2: The more researchers learn more about how the human body ages and what it experiences during the later years of life, the more we can prepare for what is to come by living healthy, positive lifestyles now. Consider what aspects of your current lifestyle may ultimately affect your experiences when you reach late adulthood.
4) Describe your current lifestyle—both physically (your eating habits, exercise routine, bad habits, scheduled doctor and dentist visits, etc.) and mentally (your tendency to become stressed, how important leisure activities are to you, how you perceive yourself, your current life circumstances, how you view the future, etc.).
5) How do you believe each of the factors of your current lifestyle will affect what you will experience when you reach late adulthood? What aspects of your life might you change to improve the possibility that you will live a healthier, more positive and productive life in late adulthood? How critical do you think it is that you begin these changes now rather than wait until you reach middle adulthood? Make sure you cite our text at some point (please see ahead to chapter 15) to support your answers.
