Needs
to be Based on a small town in northern Wisconsin.
You will be identifying a local agency of your choosing.
However, before you do this, you will be taking an honest look at your local
community. You will assess the needs of your local community and compare it to
the rest of the nation. You will show the comparison in a way that is easy for
your reader to interpret the data. You may make a chart, or you may write a
simple paragraph.
You will then present at least one organization that addresses
this need in your own community. You will tell us about this agency and the
services they offer. You will then list three areas that they are doing well
and at least two areas that they are not addressing at this time. You will then
present a plan on how you would advocate the needs in your area to the city‘s
leaders.
Hint: You may have to call the organization to get more
information on their agency. Be sure that you reference these phone
conversations in APA 7th Edition format.
Mentally reflect on the following: Assess the needs of
your local community and compare it to the rest of the nation.
Create a chart or write a paragraph that shows this
comparison.
Choose one organization that addresses the needs in your
community.
Review relevant agency websites, and/or call local
agencies to respond to the discussion prompt.
b. Describe the agency and the services they offer.
c. List three services that are addressing the needs of
your community and at least two services that are not.
5. Present the comparison chart or paragraph from Step 3
and a plan on how you would advocate the needs of your area to your city’s
leaders.
6. Submit your initial post by the fourth day of the
workshop and respond to two of your classmates’ posts by the end of the
workshop. Initial posts should be 300+ words
