Design a brand new college or university. You are free to select which type of institution, i.e. private, public, 4‐year, 2‐year, technical. The primary purpose of this project is to gain a greater awareness and appreciation of how various units work together to meet the institution’s mission. You will create the mission. You will make decisions regarding size, setting, enrollment, curricular and extra‐curricular details, etc.
Please submit your sketch of your ideal budget for your own college or university. The budget should be multi-layered including every college or school (depending on the type of institution you are creating) and department unit. Please include which budget model(s) your institution utilizes. There are sample budgets and spreadsheets for you to utilize in your final project as templates. Please include background information about your institution as well as a detailed spreadsheet that outline’s your institutional budget for the fiscal year. You are welcome to include as many charts, graphs, and spreadsheets as you deem pertinent in explaining your institution and how the resources are managed. Your final project should not exceed more than 20 pages and must include a minimum of 5 pages.
