Assignment 5: For this assignment, in preparation for Documented Research Essay 2, you will find two-three (2-3) scholarly journal articles based on Shakespeare’s Henry V.
Use the Essex County College library’s databases, such as the Literature Online (ProQuest), to search for scholarly journal articles that are: (1) specifically about Henry V; (2) scholarly and peer-reviewed.
Try typing in the title of the play or character and/or author and a major theme as search terms:
EX: Henry V and Shakespeare OR Henry V and Machiavelli
Articles will come up. Read the first page or two to ensure that the articles are relevant to your chosen theme. Write a paragraph or two explaining why you think these articles are relevant to your paper. Did reading the articles make you change your mind about anything? Do you disagree with the articles at any point?
Then, follow the steps in the PDF “Steps to Finding Scholarly Journal Articles Using Literary Databases.” Then, copy and paste the citations onto the page below your paragraph and format them per MLA style (12 pt. font, double-spaced, etc.). See the visual example below.
When you have completed the assignment, save a copy for yourself in an easily accessible place and submit a copy to your instructor using Moodle.
