Keep a module journal of learning about health policy and the role of policy in the US health system. The journal should include your notes from the two criteria listed:
1. Watch the PBS Evening New Hour twice per Module (strive for a pattern of one Friday and another weekday of the same Module). Start with Module 2 for a total of 2 viewings per Module.
2. Read the weekend edition of the Wall Street Journal or The New York Times for a total of 4 Sundays (once per Module starting with Module 2). If there is not an article relating to healthcare, or a law, debate or policy relating to healthcare, then write about any law, debate or policy that is discussed. It is not necessary to obtain a subscription as the GSU Library maintains one for your use!

Several of the Vila Health’s stakeholders are seeking clarification regarding new reimbursement models they have been hearing about recently. For this assessment, prepare a two-page memorandum outlining the differences between the new reimbursement models and prior, traditional models for stakeholders.
Support your assertions in the memo with at least three academic sources. This may require you to do additional independent research. You may wish to consult the Health Care Administration Undergraduate Library Research Guide before you begin any additional research.
The assignment has 4 parts.
Part 1

This part should be half to one page long.
Part 4
• Explain quality concerns affecting reimbursement given a specific patient scenario.
• Specifically address the recent problematic patient case from the Vila Health: Investigating a Readmission scenario.
• Briefly discuss how the care provided would be reimbursed under prior models versus reimbursement under newer models, based on your assertions in Part 3 of your memo.
• Also, identify quality issues that will likely impact the organization’s reimbursement under new payment models.

In this assignment, you will demonstrate your ability to construct SQL queries at a beginning skill level and to use the results of that query for administrative decision making. The following simple relational database schema represents a core subset of EHR functionality: tracking patient encounters. The ability to track patient encounters impacts several factors, including efficiency of care, productivity, patient safety, and ultimately revenue generation, among other areas.
This database has four tables, with one table representing each category of patients, procedures, providers, and encounters. To examine this database design, observe that the encounters table has a field for storing the ID of a patient, a provider, and a procedure. An encounter comprises the enactment of a procedure by a provider for a patient.
You are a healthcare executive who has been tasked by leadership to utilize your knowledge of SQL queries to help guide strategic planning. Leadership is considering expansion of various medical practices and needs to know the following:
1- Total number of patients seen at the organization for the year after January 1, 2019
2- The ten most common billing codes by specialty
3- Provide a count of the number of procedures per specialty
