For each of the three articles, address the following four points:
Give the APA citation correctly.
Identify the purpose of the study and briefly (4-5 sentences) summarize in your own words the method,
including design (e.g. case study, randomized clinical trial, systematic review, etc.), sampling strategy
and sample type and size, measurement (including the type of instrument, type and number of items,
validity and reliability) and data analysis (i.e. which strategies, such as statistical test or content analysis
were used to draw conclusions from the data regarding the research question/s). Report relevant
empirical finding/s as it relates to your practice question.

i.e. explain WHY you see these as weakness/strength.

EXERCISE 4.6: LISTEN TO YOURSELF AS A PROBLEM SOLVER
In this exercise, you are asked to “listen to yourself” in retrospect as you worked through some important problem situation or spotted and developed some unused opportunity. Retell the story to yourself in summary form.
Example. Here is Acantha’s story in summary form. “What I have to say is retrospective. I don’t believe I was thinking this clearly back then. I got drunk during a football game and don’t recall clearly what happened afterward. I woke up in a guy’s room. I knew I had been violated. I had no intention of having sex. At this point, I became very aware of what I was doing. My intention that day was to relax and have fun. My assumption was that no one I was with had any ulterior motives. In one way I was not thinking straight. I should never have drunk too much, but at the time I did not say that to myself. I never made a decision to throw caution to the wind, but I did by letting others help me get drunk. My decision-making abilities were lost. As soon as I woke up I began gathering my resources. APPLICATION OF THE ECOLOGICAL PERSPECTIVE TO A FILM
This assignment is a combination of demonstration of mastery of content as well as application of content to the characters/circumstances in the film. All written assignments require understanding of theoretical concepts and materials presented in classroom and readings. This paper is an opportunity for you to apply what you have been learning this semester. You are required to view the film “The Boys of Baraka” on your own time prior to session 7; this will be the basis of your midterm paper (we will discuss it in class).

Choose two (2) of the main characters (among the “boys”).
Define Bronfenbrenner’s Ecological Perspective including all five (5) levels of systems, making note of each of the systems as they are expressed in the film. You can speak in generalities (i.e. – the microsystems for the boys include their caregivers), but make sure it is specific to the film.
Select 2 of the 4 main characters in the film.
Through either a multidimensional OR life cycle perspective, discuss how each system interacts with these characters to inform their functioning and development. Compare and/or contrast the differences or similarities between the environmental factors of these two characters.
Include elements of resource and resilience.
Include any value conflicts and personal biases that may have emerged for you in viewing the film.

Develop a fictional case study that details a specific crisis event. The case study must include information about family relationships.

You are working as a social worker in an emergency room of a hospital. Jessica, age 19, has been brought in for physical assault. She discloses to you that her boyfriend came home intoxicated, became angry with her, resulting in him breaking her nose and cracking two of her ribs.
