Your chosen articles need to be peer-reviewed, which means experts in the field have reviewed it to ensure its credibility before its publication.

A major topic of this class thus far has been on the ways values, biases, and perceptions influence us and also on the importance of using science-based research methods to study psychology. A significant way we, as scholars, can seek out valid information is by utilizing quality, academic sources in research. The goal of this assignment is to help you begin the exercise of finding, evaluating, and using sources in your research.
For this assignment, you are to choose three scholarly, peer reviewed, full-text journal articles in the field of psychology on the topic of your choice to read and summarize in the form of an abstract.
Locate full-text journal articles through the CCU online library.
Your chosen articles need to be peer-reviewed, which means experts in the field have reviewed it to ensure its credibility before its publication. In other words, Psychology Today, Wikipedia, and Dictionary.com are examples that are NOT appropriate sources, but the International Journal of Group Psychotherapy is. You can choose to have results from Proquest and Academic Search Premier limited to only those that have been peer-reviewed and those that are full-text by selecting these options when searching topics. Reading only an abstract is not sufficient for this assignment; articles must be full-text.
The three abstracts you will write are essentially brief summaries of the articles. Your abstract for each article should be between 150-250 words long and should contain a sentence or two summarizing the following sections of the article to provide the reader with a brief overview: Introduction, Methods, Results, and Discussion.
Your abstract should be on a separate page and no direct quotes are permitted. A cover page and reference page must be included and your paper should meet the expectations outlined in the grading rubric including using APA format and properly citing any referenced information. Please submit your work by the due date posted.

The title page will include the assignment title, course number, your name and the date submitted.

Reflect on a communication issue that you currently face or have encountered in the past, either in a professional or academic setting. This issue could involve listening, conflict management, negotiation, persuasion, nonverbal indicators, leadership skills, or another aspect of communication that we have covered in class. Now, conduct research that could help you “fix” the problem and/or learn from it. This paper should be 3 – 4 pages in length, in strict APA format. If the length of the paper is less than 3 pages or exceeds 4 pages, points will be deducted. Due to the nature of this assignment, it is acceptable to use the first person narrative in your paper.
Research Paper Guidelines
When planning and writing your paper, remember to develop a strong, clear thesis statement, and then support it with research throughout the paper. The paper should utilize but at the same time go beyond what we covered throughout the session about communication skills in the workplace. In this paper, your purpose is not merely to summarize literature. Rather, you need to gather factual information, data and/or cases that you can find about the topic, and then support your thesis statement with your references. References must consist of at least 3-4 peer-reviewed articles from scholarly journals.
You may not cite the course textbook (O’Hair, Friedrich, & Dixon, 2016) in your research paper. You also may not cite a non-peer-reviewed article, blog, or other publication that lacks rigor or research. You are required to find, read, and cite peer-reviewed research, and avoid citing sources that are not academic, factual, or research-based.
The research paper will be comprised of the following criteria:
•Each paper will follow the APA format typed and double-spaced utilizing one (1) inch margins and size twelve (12) font in Times New Roman or Arial.
• A title page as well as a reference section will be required and are not included in the length of the assigned papers. The title page will include the assignment title, course number, your name and the date submitted.
• An abstract is not required, but is welcome. If you choose to include an abstract, it will not be included in the 3-4 page requirement of written text in the body of the paper.
• All pages are to be numbered accordingly.
• You are expected to cite at least one new reference per each typed page.
• You are expected to thoroughly proofread and edit your paper before submission. If your paper has spelling, grammatical, editing, and/or APA formatting errors, points will be deducted during the grading process.
Please submit your paper in a Microsoft Word document, and label the file with your last name, first name, and the title of your paper (ex: Raymond, Mary, Negotiation and Conflict Management Research Paper).

Dealing with Mental Load

Read Emma’s online comic entitled you should have asked (Links to an external site.). What type of solutions can we envision to address the mental load Emma describes in her comic? How can family dynamics change? Is this a private matter? How can societies and governments help women?
Your paper should be at least 1 page, typed and double-spaced.

Dealing with Mental Load

Emma, the French comic artist, demonstrates the conception of mental load by
illustrating when a man anticipates his partner to ask him to aid with things after he views her as
the manager of their domestic tasks. The comic so brilliantly expounds on the concept of mental
load and does it in a manner that is somehow demeaning or unfair to men. This concept of
mental load encapsulates the mental work women deal with while having to remember
everything they have to accomplish as mothers. Mental load also captures all the little things that
there are between accomplishing a singular task. To aid reduce the mental load of a mother as
accentuated in Emma’s comic, their partners must step in to assist the Mom prior to the
execution stage. A Mom’s partner needs to be aware of their to-do list and appreciate why
household things are carried out in a certain way (Díaz-García et al., 2021). Pitching in at the
planning phase for domestic calendars and chores is crucial. Ensuring that family activities such
as celebrations, play dates, school events, and holidays are tackled together is instrumental in
changing the family dynamics.
There is a need for the male partners to take complete ownership of specific chores as
opposed to popping in when one is free. Moreover, one ought to be open to feedback as well as
remain honest about how one feels about the management of the domestic chores. This enhances
open communication and subsequently builds trust and it serves the family well long after the
lifting of the mental load. Employers ought to adopt superior policies that permit enhanced work-
life reconciliation to lessen the mental load. In addition, the government has a responsibility to
formulate and invest in vital infrastructure that serves to reduce competing care and work
demands that may hasten the harmful imports of the mental load.
