Here are notes from the professor on what was already written.
One concern is that I see some distractions. Your focus is on employment; how to attract individuals (back) to work in the hospitality industry. Global pandemic and post-COVID19 discussion is a huge one. You do not need to capture everything. Focus on what you are going to discuss. And at the end, I would like to see a statement of purpose like: ‘Thus, this study aims to investigate the factors that can attract future generations to the hospitality industry by…’
Your independent variable is absolutely the COVID-19 pandemic and the dependent variable is the labor market situation of the hospitality industry. However, as your study is expected to be a qualitative one, I believe the critical work is to find the possible solutions for the labor market in the hospitality industry through in-depth interviews with industry experts.
(This information can be made up. The professor will not be checking the people sampled for the assignment)
My study sample will consist of several different hospitality groups. My sample size would be as many individuals as possible who are interested in being a part of the study. Obviously, the more the merrier. My study population will be using hotels and restaurants. The target population will be anyone over the age of twenty-two and working a minimum of thirty-five hours. I chose this age as most people in the study will have already graduated college or stopped going to college and are looking to join the workforce full time. I would like to find individuals that have been out of work for at least three months or longer. The sample study would hopefully be a mixture of people when it comes to race/ethnicity and gender.

The cases are intended for the student to be able to formulate strategies and plans of action for the case at hand. You will be asked to identify the facts of the case and what can be inferred from them. You will be required to research pertinent literature that addresses the issues of the case and formulate possible solutions, identify implications of the solutions, and make final recommendations. Literature can come from both peer reviewed journals and/or trade websites.
