Preliminary Research Proposal: This is the first effort on paper that will
lead to Paper 4 eventually. Students will develop ideas and write to describe their
independent and dependent variables and a causal argument that explains why they
are correlated. The paper will also include the beginnings of an annotated
bibliography or a literature review. The more you write means the more I can give
feedback on, but at a minimum we will need to see the basics: what is your theory
and variables and at least four academic sources of scholarship on your topic. 5-6
pages. Due week 7. While it is not required for Paper 2, I strongly recommend you
use the Writing Center prior to submission. More info on what is expected will come
in class. This paper is a high feedback assignment.
