Topics in Materials Science
The field of materials science is constantly making advances in important areas that impact modern society. One of the best ways to learn about recent advances in a certain topic area is by following trade journals of professional societies. The Materials Research Society (MRS) publishes a monthly periodical named the MRS Bulletin which covers a different application area each issue. In this assignment, you are asked to read one article from each of the following MRS Bulletin issues:
1. Materials & Engineering: Propelling Innovation (Volume 40, Issue 12) (pdf attached)
2. Materials for Energy Harvesting (Volume 43, Issue 3) (pdf attached)
3. The machine learning revolution in materials research (Volume 44, Issue 7) (pdf attached)
Summarize the contents of those articles and discuss the importance of those materials to the field particular application at hand. Critical questions to ask include: What are the materials described in these articles? How do they function relative to a certain application or topic area? What materials properties are the most important for that application? How are the materials being designed to demonstrate superior materials properties?
Include full citations of the articles that you read at the end of your essay. Utilize the citation format employed in the MRS Bulletin (Hint: look at the citations at the end of the article that you’re reading). As this assignment will have a weight of 5%, you are expected to a minimum of 500 words for each paper (excluding references). You are encouraged to work on this assignment in groups of 2 or less – students should write their report together & indicate both students names if they worked on the assignment in a pair.
So final product is three paper with each paper 500 words minimum on the three artricle that I attached.

Virtual Simulation Assignment
We are going to explore the orbital motion of the five different gravitational systems, A through E, through a virtual simulation provided by PhET. You will fill out the masses of the star and the planet. You will also measure the orbital radius and the period of the system in the Excel worksheet (highlighted area). You will learn about the properties of orbital shape, escape velocity, and Kepler’s third law.
View the PhET “Gravity and Orbits” Interactive Simulation.
Review the video PhET Gravity & Orbits to familiarize yourself with the various functions of the simulation before beginning your assignment.
Use the Unit III Virtual Simulation Assignment Excel Worksheet for this unit. Save all of your work directly to the worksheet, and submit it in Blackboard for grading.
See the Unit III Assignment Instructions to access the details for this activity.

i need the drag table completed on my PowerPoint presentation.
Step 1. on look at the powerpoint presentation labeled “Burke, Jason_MOD 3.2_Cessna 172 Skyhawk _DRAG” page 9. the professor said “Still did not follow instructions- You start the drag table at the stall speed then in 20 knot increments. You went from stall speed to 120 knots, so all your data will be wrong……So do it over.
STEP 2- review the data for the aircaft ” cessna 172 skyhawk”
STEP 3 : look at the sample labeled “MOD 3.2 EXAMPLE”
STEP 4: review the document “MOD 3.2 Independent Project_Drag”
STEP 5: look at the sample that i upload. to make sure your on the right track.
STEP 6- review the document “ASCI_309_Table_drag_table” you will have to change the numbers to for the cessna 172. The it will automatically change the equation.
STEP 7. the document “ASCI 309 Functions V5″ the bottom tab called ” CH 5 (M3)” will give the equation you need to solve the DRAG TABLE”
I just need the DRAG Chart changed. to have the right numbers as a reflection of the
cessna 172 data.

the book we are reading is conceptual physics. I really enjoyed chapter 12 it talks about solids like crystal structures, density and elasticity.
Your response to each writing assignment should be 250-350 words. Each assignment will ask you to pick/select topic(s) from a set of chapters in the text. Your essay should be a reflection of what you have learned or understood from it. The essays can be experiential – that is can be examples of these concepts in action in your day-day life. They can also be related to sport, scenes or tropes from popular movies/TV-shows, history, biology, … – your choice!
