Foundation Case Study (Level 4)
Mrs. Evans is an ex-pub landlady; she is 67 years old and is now the primary carer for her 70-year-old husband who has dementia. Mrs. Evans suffers from hypertension managed by Atenolol, Bendroflumethiazide. She also has osteoarthritis in her hands, knees, and feet which she manages with paracetamol and ibuprofen. This has culminated in HAV of both her great toes and lesser digital deformities in both her hands and feet. She suffers from apical and dorsal callous and a plantar corn to the second metatarsal heads of both feet. As we approach winter, she is becoming concerned as she usually suffers with chilblains at this time of year. She is feeling quite low at the minute as her home circumstances are making her feel depressed.
