Describe what animal & plant life you will bring with you and why.

You have been so great in class that your teacher has arranged to send you to your own private island. The only catch is that your teacher’s boat is so big that it takes ten years to fuel up. So you will be on the island all by yourself for 10 years. The island is covered with vegetation; however, there is no animal life. The soil is good for farming and the region has warm temperatures with a high rate of annual rainfall. Describe what animal & plant life you will bring with you and why. Your Teacher, being the generous person she is, also gives you $20,000 to upgrade the island to make it livable. You must tell what you will bring/do to the island so you can live there and why. Please account for your money as best as possible.

Lessons learned from previous such incidents, and address what measures (procedural, technological, etc.) should be adopted to prevent similar incidents from occurring in the future.

Each student will write a research paper about retractable gear aircraft systems, including
mechanical systems for both operating and preventing gear up landings, safety concerns,
common problems experienced, a review of inadvertent gear up landing accidents/incidents, and
the psychological aspects of preventing gear up landings. The paper should address the various
lessons learned from previous such incidents, and address what measures (procedural,
technological, etc.) should be adopted to prevent similar incidents from occurring in the future.
The style required for formatting the paper is American Psychological Association (APA), 7 th
edition, guidelines. The paper will be graded on accuracy and completeness of information,
cohesiveness, spelling and grammar, and number and quality of references. The paper should be
a minimum of 5 pages of content (typewritten, double-spaced, one inch margins, and no larger
than 12 point font). A minimum of 5 quality references, appropriately cited in the text and
appropriately listed on a reference page, should be used. In addition to the 5 pages of content, a

To find gear up accidents on NTSB database – follow the link above; once there, select “Advanced Search”. In the “field” drop down box, selected “aviation field”, then “sequence of event” then “event category”. Then, for the “query value” select “abnormal runway contact” and then either “landing gear collapse” or “landing gear not configured” depending on whether you’re looking for a mechanical issue or a did not extend issue.

Amazing support throughout the whole process.

I would like to thank my family — my beautiful wife, Clare, and my five children, Emily, Carter,
Cohen, Brady, and Mason — for all of the encouragement and tolerance while I spent a year and a
half of my life writing this book. My brothers, sister, Mom, Dad, and Paulette have also given me a
lot of motivation to keep pushing through no matter what. I love you all.
To all my folks at Immunity (I would list each of you here if I had the room): thanks for tolerating me
on a day-to-day basis. You are truly an amazing crew to work with. To the team at No Starch — Tyler,
Bill, Serena, and Leigh — thanks so much for all of the hard work you put into this book and the rest
in your collection. We all appreciate it.
I would also like to thank my technical reviewers, Dan Frisch and Cliff Janzen. These guys typed out
and critiqued every single line of code, wrote supporting code, made edits, and provided absolutely
amazing support throughout the whole process. Anyone who is writing an infosec book should really
get these guys on board; they were amazing and then some.
For the rest of you ruffians that share drinks, laughs and GChats: thanks for letting me piss and moan
to you about writing this book.
