General Overview There are multiple acting methodologies that allow an actor to best portray their message. These messages are the truths conveyed by the actors. Both of your selected acting/movement masters and their methods offer truth, yet they differ in the perspective surrounding that truth. Is believability the essence of truth and authenticity? Moment work? Actor’s awareness of their physical regime, core, strength, and focus? Depth and layers of characterization? Audience’s Participation? For many acting masters, acting is not about deception. It is about conveying their characters and circumstances truthfully. What is truth in acting? How can an actor achieve authenticity? Discuss. Use your two acting/movement masters to support the argument. Structure for the Paper Introduction: States the thesis (major argument) of your paper. Content of paper: Use specific ideas, concepts, techniques or examples from your acting/movement masters to support your argument. You will use your powerpoint presentation as basis of your analysis. Use at least two citations (scholarly sources) in content of your paper. Conclusion: Summarizes how content of the paper supports your thesis.
