Students will write a four-page research paper comparing and contrasting the behavior of two organizations in sport. In developing the paper, students should use specific examples from concepts covered during the course to support the paper (for example: diversity, job satisfaction, workplace culture, leadership and management, motivation and communication, and so forth). Also-address the history and background of the organizations. In addition, students should cite five articles from academic journals or other reputable sources (newspapers and magazine are fine) in proper APA format. Potential ideas for consideration: A comparison of the NCAA vs NAIA A comparison of two university athletics programs A comparison of two professional sports teams (For example: NBA, NFL, NHL) A comparison of national governing bodies (For example: USA Basketball, Brazilian Football Federation, US. Olympic Committee) A comparison of other nonprofit entities (For example: Special Olympics, Team Impact) 1. Page Requirements – Four Double-Spaced Pages (Not including references) 2. Reference at least five outside sources (Wikipedia does not count) 3. Follow APA guidelines for references: In the text, use (Author, year) and if you are directly quoting something make sure you put quotes around the sentence. For example – “Dr. Brown is a brilliant instructor” (Brown, 2021). If it is not a direct quote, and you are paraphrasing or using the reference to help support your argument, do not use quotation marks. For example – The University of Kansas program is one of the top in the nation (Brown, 2021). 4. Use regular 1 inch margins, size 12 Times New Roman Font. Do not try to “trick” me with margins, spacing, or text size. 5. Do not plagiarize or use work you did in another class (that is also plagiarism).
