Research Paper (12 points -12%) For this project you will do a critical analysis paper on voting laws in 2012-2021. In writing your paper, you have the option of choosing one of two formats (APA or MLA). Your paper will be 5 double-spaced pages, 12 font size, and one-inch margins on the top, bottom, left, and right. Your paper must have at least five references (you may use media sources – news organizations). Your paper it must be properly formatted including a cover page with your name and title of your paper. Write a critical review of voting laws the US in 2012-21. In particular, we have seen a variety of voting legislations (laws) developed and established at federal and state levels in 2020 and 2021. Review at least 2 federal laws and 2 state laws and your review should reflect your knowledge of the main arguments, theories and debates presented around the issue; and how different States are handling the issue. Critically analyze the short term and long term impacts on these laws on the lives and experience of women and other marginalized groups (racial minorities, LGBTQ+, immigrants, etc).
