Decide on a series of question to ask your subjects that relate to the topic “Being a Muslim in America today” “Being Gay in America Today” and/or “Being a White Supremacist in America Today”. If you have a different idea for Multicultural/Diversity monologues, let me know and I may or may not approve them as diversity.
Find 7 to 10 people who are either Gay, Muslim or White Supremacist. They will have to self identify when you ask them point blank.
Assure them that their real names will not be used in the monologue and make up a character name for them with their input and help.
Take notes as you ask the questions. If they will permit, you may tape record the conversation.
From your notes craft a one minute monologue using their words and intentions.
Compile all seven to ten monologues into a paper with an introductory paragraph, a list of the questions you asked the subjects, and a brief paragraph as to where you found your subjects and how the process went.
After the monologue entries, write a summary paragraph about your experience.
