Provide a rationale for the need for codes of ethics in the varying field of sport management.
What is the value of organizing your code of ethics according to relationships, responsibilities, and actions?
What procedures would you use to have the greatest input from your personnel in developing a code of ethics for your organization?
Based on the article Characteristics of NCAA Conference Codes of Ethics (Greenwell, Geist, Mahony, Jordan, & Pastore, 2001) what suggestions would you give to help conferences revise their codes of ethics, and what would you propose as a code of ethics for the NCAA Mountain West Conference and/or the Colorado State University Athletics?
Be sure to reference the aforementioned module readings in your response. Including other references is recommended.
Initial Posts – I would recommend two to three paragraphs with a minimum of five sentences, per paragraph, per question for each initial post. Use your experience, outside sources, current events, etc. to help with your responses. Personally, I like to write with broad strokes in the beginning of my responses and then narrow down my focus. Imagine you are explaining the topic to someone who has no experience in our field. Failure to follow these standards will result in a deduction of your grade. I would expect the total number of words to be around 750. I would operate under the guise that you cannot write too much, but you certainly can write too little.
