Students will complete a 10-page research paper that has the following components:
1. Introduction: what is your topic? Why is this topic significant? What do we learn from this topic? (1 page)
2. Discussion of existing studies: What did scholars say on this topic? What are the major arguments? What are the strengths of their arguments What are some gaps that you need to fill in? (3 pages)
3. Photographs to analyze: What photographs did you study? How did you choose them? (0.5 page)
4. Arguments: What are some major themes that you draw from them? How do you build upon previous arguments? What new things do you add? (5 pages)
5. Conclusion and reflection: What did you learn? (0.5 page)
