Assignment title:
Essay critically analysing the extent of democratic inclusion and decision-making in public services.
Guidance: You may select any public service as a case study for this essay, from any country of your choice, looking at the relevance of:
• external factors (political, economic, social),
• internal organisational factors, and
• factors regarding the involvement of citizens and service-users.
Your critical analysis should begin by justifying the importance of one of these three groups of factors over the others, as you will give more priority to one specific group of factors in your assessment. Please see below for further guidance on the main sections of your essay.
Your critical analysis should end with clear real-world driven recommendations for how to improve decision-making in your chosen public service in relation to the factors you have focused on.
