4. Creative Assignment 1: Developing Materials for the Global Film and TV Market
a) For this assignment, please develop 5 project ideas for feature films (studio or
independent), TV series, or new media properties that you consider suitable for
the global marketplace or a specific international territory (or territories).
Come up with a title, specify the genre, and create a one to two-sentence logline
for each project.
b) Pick one of the 5 project ideas you would like to further work on in this class and
write a one page synopsis.
c) Write one page, laying out a potential strategy for getting your project made.
Consider developing a project that you feel strongly about and that you could
envision developing in detail and producing yourself or setting up at an
independent production company or studio, network or streaming service in the
U.S. or abroad.
d) Pick one foreign film or television market you are particularly interested in and on
one two pages summarize any differences you can find to the U.S. film and
television market.
