Project #1
Do a 3-4-page rhetorical analysis of your chosen text. Again, use Chapter 10 in Compose, Design, Advocate for guidance, in particular, pages 332-45. Use clear, specific examples from your texts to support your claims. If you are using print ads, or posters, for example, find a way to cut and paste those images on to the project document. If you are referring to TV or movies, name specific characters and plots, use dialogue, and whatever else you can to support your claim that these “texts” represent a specific idea or theme. Just as an example, take a look at the 80’s MTV videos (particularly by heavy metal and “hair” bands) and how women are represented: how are they dressed, how do they act, and what does this say about what they are supposed to represent?
All documents must be double-spaced, with 12-point font, and standard margins (MLA formatting). See Resources tab for example.
