This site provides learning disability characteristics for reading, writing, math, and attention disorders. Each area has a “Basic,” Difficulties,” and “Responses” page that you should read. On the Basic page, there are several simulations. As you read through, a message is displayed that asks you “Try it yourself” to experience a specific simulation. You will need to try at least one simulation from each area (reading, math, writing, and attention) for a total of 4. After each simulation, briefly describe what you were to do in the simulation and summarize how you felt performing the simulation in 150-250 words each. Each simulation is worth 5 points for a total of 20 points.
( You may not be able to access the Attention simulations. If this presents a problem, choose an additional simulation from one of the others to arrive at four simulations.

Adolescent movie plots are often based on the special interests of teens, such as identity
development, first love, rebellion, conflict with parents, and teen angst. This paper requires
students to apply the information learned from the course lessons and assigned readings
to the characters in a movie that focuses on the adolescent period.
The paper must be 3-4 typed, double spaced pages in Times New Roman 12-point font with
1” margins. The page limit does not include the title page or reference list.
Grades will be based on the quality, content and thoroughness of responses in parts 1 – 3
(below). Grades are also based on how accurately responses reflect course lecture and reading material. Work should be proofread for spelling, grammar, and punctuation errors and for coherence and organization.

portrayed in the movie. Discuss how this depiction of adolescence was not accurate
according to course information. (4 points)
Reflect on whether you would recommend this movie to an adolescent. Explain why or
why not with concrete examples. (3 points)
