OHIO GEOMETRY STANDARDS RESEARCH PAPER – Specific Guidance
1. The main topic is the Ohio Learning Standards Geometry Standards
grades 1 through 5. The title for your Paper should be different than “NCTM Geometry
Standards”.
2. Briefly read over the introductory material on the Ohio Learning Standards of Teachers of
Mathematics Principles and Standards.
3. Carefully read the Geometry Standards, paying particular attention to grades 1 through 5. Only worry about Geometry Related Standards not all the standards.
4. Begin your paper with a few paragraphs that explain what the Ohio Learning standards are.
5. Summarize the geometry standards for each grade level, including examples.
Do not simply copy the standards
, but explain them in your own words.
6. Discuss how the geometry standards change from grade to grade.
7. Conclude your paper with a reflection on your preparedness to teach these geometry
standards.
