Read the Module 3 assigned materials, 2) review the Belmont Report, and finally, 3) review the film Miss Ever’s Boys.
Using your Faculty-Approved research article, for your Main/Initial post:
Describe how the authors/researchers protected human subjects in their study.
Based on your Module 3 textbook readings and the review of the film that portrayed the life of the Tuskegee Syphilis Study participants, do you believe that their human rights were adequately protected?
According to the Belmont Report, the three key principles of ethical research are:
Respect of Persons,
Beneficence, and
Justice.
Were these the guiding principles in the research article you reviewed? In the Tuskegee Syphilis Study? Provide your rationale, support your argument with supportive science.
And lastly, reflect on your role as a nurse and respond to the question: “Is health care a basic right in the United States?”
Support your response by applying ethical principles and use appropriate references.
