Introduction
Research an activist organization or advocacy group that is working to transform dominant forms of masculinity as they relate to gender norms, race, sexuality, class, and other social systems. Although the group or organization you focus on should be based in the U.S., their work should connect to contemporary global issues related to masculinities such as globalization, labor organizing, ending gender-based violence, environmental degradation and climate change, prison abolition, etc.
Create a poster (in PowerPoint) that showcases the organization or group you researched and demonstrate knowledge of the strategies the group has developed to challenge and transform dominant masculinities.
Instructions
The research poster represents a visual synthesis of thoughts and research on the organization or group that you focus on in your project. As a visual aid, your poster should gather together photos, artwork, graphics, and other images to illustrate your research and the strategies that your group or organization relies on to transform masculinities.
Your poster must contain the following components:
1. a title
2. the name and geographic location(s) where your group or organization is active
3. a brief summary of the history of the group or organization, the people and communities involved, and the cultural and political context in which they work
4. a discussion of 3 strategies that your group or organization relies on and how they deploy those strategies in their efforts to transform dominant forms of masculinity
In addition to the poster, create a 2-page report (intended to be read as a speech) to present research conducted on the organization.
Also include works cited.
