Overview
Project managers work with project management plans tailored to each specific project. We will be using a Project Plan Template (linked in the Resources) to complete project management tasks throughout this course for the project you chose in Assessment 1.
Context
In today’s fast-changing and highly competitive environment, many companies are looking to project management to provide a structured and organized approach to managing projects through a well-planned and coordinated process. To begin to understand what is involved in the project planning, you must be able to:
Identify elements to include in an executive summary of the project.
Create a communications matrix.
Identify the stakeholders of the project.
Define a risk matrix and risk management plan for the project.
Instructions
Using the Project Plan Template, add the elements you created in the first assessment for your presentation:
Project charter.
Project scope.
Work breakdown structure (WBS).
This week, create the following elements and add them to your Project Plan as well:
Communications matrix.
Risk matrix.
