FINAL PROJECT DETAILS:
Due: November 30th by 11:59pm uploaded to Dropbox.
Based on our reading and discussion of No Exit:
Decide which design element (Scenic, Costume, Lighting, Sound) you want to do for No Exit.
Review the script to look for design details specifically stated in the text.
Create a Director’s Statement. We will discuss this in class. It’s your “concept” for show. Where are you setting it and what is the overall look you hope to achieve? Also consider how your setting will affect your design.
Scenic Design: Must design the whole set (don’t forget props); Costume Design: Must design all 4 characters; Lighting Design: Choose 3 moments from the play and design lights for those moments; Sound Design: Choose 3 moments from the play and choose those sounds.
Your project must be in a form that can be uploaded to Dropbox. This can be a Powerpoint w/pictures, links, etc. It could also be a Word doc with the appropriate pictures/media imbedded. There must be a visual (or aural for sound) component for each design. For Scenic, this could be a rendering, floor plan, or picture of a model YOU HAVE BUILT. For Costumes, this could a costume renderings or pictures of costume pieces. For Lighting, this could be pictures of lights and lighting effects for the three moments. For Sound, you can record or find the audio you wish to use and include links to the sounds for your three moments (make sure the links are working or I can’t give you credit for them). In class, we will go over ways you can accomplish this even if you aren’t artistic (I am not!).
(5 points on the final project grade) in addition to the visual or aural component, write a one-page description of your design, director’s statement, and justifications (from the play, from the director’s statement, from the group collaboration) for your design. It should be uploaded with your final project
