Together As Equity Minded Data Leaders …
Provided by Shamini Dias
In this assignment, you will submit your notes that you prepared and shared in the manifesto collaboration, and do 2 final reflections on your whole journey in exploring and developing JEDI Data Leadership as an identity you can embody and continue to develop as you move ahead into your career.
You can put everything into one document to submit.
YOUR MANIFESTO NOTES
Gather the notes you created and brought to class to share with your classmates for creating the manifesto – copy and paste them into a document. PLEASE NOTE – there is no need to clean them up or put them into a narrative. Sentences and bullet points as you prepared them for sharing are fine.
2 REFLECTIONS
You worked collaboratively in creating a shared Manifesto for JEDI Data Leadership. Look over the manifesto and review your journey over the 4 sessions we had together exploring Parnell’s framework of data identity, the leader as artist and leader as complex adaptive thinker. Think back to the challenges within leadership as a minoritized identity.
For each one, please write about 200 words – this is a rough guide of course. If you have more to say, go for it!
REFLECTION 1 PROMPT: Describe how you contributed to the collaboration in creating a JEDI Data Leadership Manifesto. What are your greatest takeaways from writing a manifesto collaboratively with your peers? Was that more effective than writing one solo for yourself – why or why not? As you move forward, in what ways might you use this manifesto?
REFLECTION 2 PROMPT: What do you know now more explicitly about data leadership that you did not realize before or that was less conscious in your awareness? What key ideas or concepts resonate the most with you and that you will take into your future work?
